This part can be a bit tricky because the shutter box is usually quite heavy. You might need a friend to help you hold it in place while you’re screwing it on.
Attaching the Shutter
Once the guide rails and the shutter box are in place, it’s time to attach the shutter. Carefully lift the shutter and insert the edges of the shutter into the guide rails. Make sure it slides smoothly up and down in the rails. If it doesn’t, check to see if there are any obstructions or if the rails are misaligned.
Next, connect the shutter to the mechanism inside the shutter box. This usually involves hooking up the shutter to a chain or a motor, depending on the type of shutter you’ve got. Follow the instructions that came with your steel rolling shutter kit to do this correctly.
Testing the Shutter
After you’ve attached the shutter, it’s time to test it out. Try opening and closing the shutter a few times. Make sure it moves smoothly and doesn’t get stuck.
